Calvin Theatre

Historic Roots

The Calvin Theater, circa 1924, had fallen into serious disrepair after years of neglect, necessitating a complicated full-scale restoration encompassing the stage, concessions stand, lobby, and facade.

Landmark Revival

The theater's signature plaster moldings were restored, and in some cases, duplicated. A new color scheme pays homage to the theater’s historic roots while giving it a vibrant, modern twist, and a new marquee lends sophistication to the facade.

The complete renovation and restoration of the 1924 historic Calvin Theater earned Thomas Douglas Architects a Massachusetts Historic Commission Preservation Award and a Northampton Historic Commission Award.
