Reinvigorating the downtown, jump start community life.
The design for this mixed-use development includes flexible infrastructure, adaptable layouts, and modular components that can transform as the needs of the community change. This allows for sustained relevance and utility across decades, reducing the need for costly renovations and new construction down the line.
Transit-oriented development (TOD) plays a vital role in this approach, anchoring this building within the larger framework of urban mobility. The development is well-connected to the surrounding area, supporting a mixed-use community where people can live, work, and access essential services without relying on private vehicles.
Engaging the streetscape.
A horizontal awning draws the eye across the facade, helping break down the vertical scale of the structure and creating a more intimate and inviting environment at the street level. This design element cultivates a pedestrian-friendly experience, offering shelter, shade, and a sense of human-scale proportion that encourages interaction and engagement with the building.
Our design integrates features that actively promote alternative, non-carbon modes of transportation. By prioritizing bike storage and connections to public transit, we create an environment that encourages eco-conscious travel. These elements are central to our design philosophy—creating spaces that reduce the reliance on fossil fuels, enhance accessibility, and promote a healthier, more sustainable urban lifestyle for all who engage with the site.
Landmark Beacon.
Designing with a modern sensibility in a historic downtown requires a delicate balance of innovation and respect in order to create a building that honors the rich history of the community while introducing contemporary elements that reflect the town's forward-looking spirit.
This project serves as a gateway building, strategically positioned to engage the approach to the city. The design carefully responds to the constraints of a tightsite, maximizing space while creating a structure that feels integrated with its surroundings. It’s a modern landmark that respects the historic context and contributes to the town’s evolving narrative.
