Progression Brewery
Design for Gathering.
The historic Gleason Building is a 100 year old former bowling alley, stable, and beer distribution warehouse located at 9 Pearl Street in downtown Northampton. This sprawling complex, which has housed numerous local businesses over the years, had fallen into disrepair. Our design task was to renovate the structure for the next 100 years.
The crumbling historic brick facade was rehabilitated, insulated, and updated with modern windows to improve energy performance, while the original timber-frame truss roof was stabilized and reinforced to support a new photovoltaic array. New interior finishes revitalized the existing open floor plans, bringing a warm yet modern industrial feel to the space.
